Taylor & Caleb | Engagement Shoot

Taylor & Caleb’s engagement shoot actually wasn’t their first. Even though they had already done a beachy, romantic photoshoot, they took full advantage of extra portraits when they won my giveaway for launching my complete rebrand! They opted to use their complimentary engagement session with their wedding package to do something more creative and out-of-the box. 

Exploring Downtown Norfolk

We decided to start with a series of formal, elopement-style engagement photos in downtown Norfolk, VA. Both Taylor and Caleb are from the area, so taking pictures around Norfolk added a sentimental touch to their photos. 

We spent a few hours walking around, exploring the city streets, and taking photos all around town. From light and airy building top candids to some classic snaps on the customhouse steps, we found plenty of ways to capture Taylor and Caleb’s playful dynamic together. I always love seeing couples laugh and enjoy each other’s company, and these two are no exception!

The Finishing Touch

We ended the day with photos at Doumar's, which is an old and beloved diner in downtown Norfolk. (Fun fact: Doumar’s is home to the world’s very first waffle cone!) Taylor, Caleb, and I enjoyed milkshakes and french fries, shared silly stories, and got to know each other a bit more while I took some final portraits. 

This session took place exactly one year and one day before their actual wedding day–how fitting is that? Taylor and Caleb are genuine, enthusiastic, and so much fun to be around, and I can’t wait to be there for their actual wedding day, which I know will be a blast!
